Goose flying upside down

by nigel on May.20, 2009, under Animals

The image below was taken by wildlife photographer Brian McFarlane as the goose was battling to land in heavy winds. The contotion; as you may call it; may look painful but in the goose world it is a tried and tested way of extreme air braking, called “whiffling”.
